申請美簽免簽證一定要晶片護照嗎?

因為來加拿大找朋友玩,來了之後一行人決定想由溫哥華搭車到西雅圖(因為路程很近),但剛剛發現到我的護照和大家不一樣,我的是2006申請的,不是電子護照,但也還沒過期,想請問各位那這樣我是不是就不能網路申請美簽了呢?ORZ
