為了求生存，前大聯盟強打葛雷諾(Vladimir Guerrero)今年初與獨立聯盟長島鴨隊簽約
，只是效力沒多久便離隊，而日前更在多明尼加媒體宣布，結束16年職棒生涯宣告退休，
理由是自己的舊傷加重，再加上要陪家人的關係，遂做出還沒40歲就退出球場的決定。
